In May 2016, Civilex Victoria were awarded the Wheelers Hill Traffic Project for Caulfield Grammar School. Since this time, Civilex have been working at the Wheeler’s Hill Campus, completing the $8m main entrance upgrade for the school. This project is of particular importance to Caulfield Grammar as it addresses their traffic congestion and spatial issues and includes an exciting upgrade to the main entrance. The Civilex scope includes the main entrance upgrade, construction of a new maintenance facility, storage facility, access roads and parking facilities.
Since project commencement, the project team have worked hard to accommodate the specific needs of the school to ensure that daily operations were not affected by the works. Careful planning of the main entrance upgrade was paramount to achieve the tight one week shutdown during the school holidays. Civilex successfully realigned the roundabout entrance, installed new drainage, duplicated the existing entrance way and re-sheeted 50m of the existing entrance road all in time for the return of the students. The Civilex team were praised for their workmanship and efficiency by the Caulfield Grammar Construction team after this intense week of construction activities.
The works are scheduled for completion in January 2017. With all major milestones achieved to date, Civilex is on track to complete the project within the proposed timeframe.
