Geelong-Bacchus Marsh Road – Works Update Stage 1
Civilex’s road improvement works along Geelong Bacchus Marsh Road are really taking shape now with the construction of a new roundabout at Elcho Road.
Site Engineer Jake Rapp has been on the project site since January where the works delivered form part of VicRoads’ Towards Zero safety initiative. Jake says, “It’s a great role in a fast-paced project covering a range of civil tasks. It’s satisfying knowing the work we’re delivering will make a real difference to the level of safety on our roads.”
The Geelong-Bacchus Marsh Road has been identified as one of the highest risk roads in the state. The safety upgrades form part of the Victorian Government’s $1.4 billion Towards Zero Initiative with the ultimate aim to significantly reduce the number of deaths and serious injuries on our roads.
Civilex works closely with community stakeholders across all its construction and infrastructure improvement projects. Jake adds, “There has been a lot of local interest in the project and we have been striving to produce a safe and timely outcome with as little disruption to the public as possible.”
Civilex is proud to be part of improving road infrastructure for our community.
The Towards Zero Plan is funded through the TAC and delivered by VicRoads.
