RU OK? is an Australian non-profit suicide prevention organisation, founded by advertiser Gavin Larkin in 2009. R U OK? Day advocates people to have conversations with others and support those struggling with life’s ups and downs.
Today, the RU OK? organisation is encouraging everyone to meaningfully connect and support those struggling with life through conversation. This year we’re encouraging everyone to – Trust the Signs, Trust your Gut and Ask R U OK? and take on our challenge:
This morning at Civilex sites we delivered toolbox talks communicating the importance of Ask, Listen, Encourage Action, and Check In.
We want everyone to feel confident looking out for the cues in what someone’s saying, doing and what’s going on in their life that could indicate a mate or loved one is struggling with life. Whenever you notice a change, no matter how small, we want you to trust your gut and start an R U OK? conversation.
To help get this message into every corner of Australia, RUOK organisation has developed resources and materials to get everyone in our workplace ready to trust the signs and start a conversation that could change a life.
