Collector Wind Farm First Turbine Footing Pour

The team at Collector Wind Farm in Goulburn NSW completed its first turbine footing concrete pour recently. Commencing at 5.30am and finishing at 2.30pm, the concrete pour involved 14 concreters, two concrete pump trucks that pumped 400m3 of concrete from five concrete trucks.

The 54 Collector turbine footings are 16.6m wide and 3.5m deep with 40 tonnes of steel in each footing.

The highlight for Project Director Matt Willis was, “Everyone working together – Civilex, Vestas, Ratch, Divall’s, C4G, ASCT, Bereza and Nathan’s – to effectively plan and execute a common goal. It was great to see the hard work, planning and collaboration between the entire project team result in a seamless start to the first foundation pour.”

Together with RJE Smarter Engineering, Civilex was awarded the Collector Wind Farm balance of plant contract by global sustainable energy solutions provider Vestas in May. The Civilex RJE Global Consortium will deliver the balance of plant work for the Collector Wind Farm, located just outside of Goulburn, NSW.
